President's Message

To our WHS families,

We hope you and your students are adjusting well to the changes in the school day and are staying healthy!

The PTO plays an important role in our school and community, especially now. The monthly PTO meetings are a place for all our high school parents to discuss ideas, share questions & concerns, listen to topical, informative, and engaging speakers from within and outside of our district, and stay abreast of goings on at the high school.  Given that parents will not be allowed into the school until at least Jan 2021, our monthly zoom meetings, newsletters, and Class Facebook pages will be especially informative & essential.

Membership in the PTO is now open.  Please visit our website www.westonpspto.org and click on the registration link to join.

This past spring, our largest fundraiser, the Memorial Day Road Race, was cancelled.  Please consider a donation so that the PTO may continue to support the students by enhancing the quality of their educational, social, and emotional needs and the staff staff by providing funding for training, programming and supplies that fall outside the budget (see details in Philanthropy section below).

Look for the donation button as you register for membership. Any amount is greatly appreciated and your donation is tax deductible.

We welcome your involvement and encourage your input.  Please email me anytime janethof@optonline.net.

Thank you!

Janet Hoffman

WHS PTO President

Philanthropy Update

We all know this year is unlike any other year, but what hasn’t changed is our PTO’s commitment to our High School staff and our students. Over the last 8 years, the PTO has not only funded nearly 100 small philanthropy requests at an average cost of $1,400 per request, but also the large-scale projects highlighted below:

  • $10,000 donation to upgrade the TV and Sports Broadcasting Studio (2019-2020)

  • $35,000 donation to build the College Career Center (2018-2019)

  • $5,000 donation to the WHS Boosters for a Pixelot Camera (2017-2018)

  • $5,000 donation for the Science Lab (2017-2018)

  • $6,739 donation to the Art Department for Art Tables (2016-2017)

  • $10,902 donation for the CASE Study Room for Academics (2016-2017)

  • $50,397 donation to upgrade the Library Learning Commons (2015-2016)

  • $4,823 donation for Band Instruments for the Music Department (2014-2015)

  • $9,715 donation for Tablets & Cart for the Technology Department (2013-2014)

  • $12,000 donation to the Library Project (2012-2013)

None of these philanthropic gifts could have happened without the support from our High School community. We look forward to and appreciate your ongoing support, this year more than ever, as we continue to bring these kinds of learning enhancements to our high school staff and students.
