President's Message

Hello WHS families,

Our high school students are well into the first quarter at this point.  The freshmen are settling into the new HS routine, the sophomores just took their first college board practice test, juniors took the official PSAT and we look forward to hearing who qualifies as a Merit scholar, and seniors are busy working on college applications.  We’ve all had to adapt to the changes imposed on us due to the pandemic.  However, there are some bright spots and we have found. Thanks to Stephanie Morris,  our bi-annual College Test Prep Course was able to be held virtually and the instructors were able to accommodate everyone.  Our monthly meeting attendance has more than doubled as we have been able to conduct PTO business and feature speakers all while you can enjoy a cup of coffee in your pajamas.  The HS administration ran a fantastic back to school night with hundreds of families able to engage in hours of Q&A and teacher videos watched at parent’s convenience.  The Board of Ed and the district administration has worked tirelessly with special meetings to ensure all of our students health, safety, social, emotional, and academic needs are met in this unique environment.  Many thanks to our BOE rep, Kristana Esslinger, for attending all the meetings and providing summaries and links on our website, www.westonpspto.org for all our parents to review at their leisure.

We hope to “see" you at any or all of the upcoming November events:

  • 11/2 Monday 9-10:30 Q & A with Mark Cooper, director of the Westport Weston Health District
  • 11/4 Wednesday 9-10 Monthly Q & A with Lisa Wolak, WHS Principal
  • 11/6 Friday 9 - 11 Monthly WHS PTO meeting

On behalf of the entire WHS PTO board, we are here to support you and continue to advance quality education through open communication among students, faculty, parent, administrators, the BOE and the community.

Stay well,

Janet Hoffman

WHS PTO President
