PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear WHS families,

Our thoughts are with you as we navigate this New Year’s challenging landscape.  With COVID numbers escalating and the highly charged political climate continuing, stress levels are high.  Our entire community of PTO board members, student SGA reps, Parent class reps, administration, guidance counselors, and first responder volunteers are available to support you all however you may need.  I know I repeat that in every newsletter but I can’t emphasize enough how much I mean it.

If you missed it or want to re-listen, here is the link to the recording of our General Meeting on Friday.

I will also be moderating the joint PTO Budget Review Q & A on Jan 13 – details below.   Should you be unable to attend, it will also be recorded and we will post link on PTO website.  Once we all have a better understanding of this year’s projections, we will be sharing a great project our Philanthropy chair, Laura Schlossberg, worked on with WHS videography students highlighting some of the amazing enhancements your support of the PTO has enabled us to provide for our students.

On a lighter note, our exec board has the privilege of judging the senior class gingerbread house decorating contest next week and we look forward to posting photos of the winners on the website.

Stay well & practice self care.  Here are some ideas – use a towel right out of the dryer, buy yourself something warm & fuzzy, get more sleep, change your scenery & re-decorate, get a heated or weighted blanket, read a book in bed, meditate, call an old friend, send a card or a letter to someone, clean out your closet, do a small act of kindness.

With kindest regards,

Janet Hoffman

WHS PTO President
