PTO & SCHOOL NEWS

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

I love Fall in Weston!!! Sports teams are out on the fields playing their hearts out!! October is full of excitement… the weather is cooler, the leaves are starting to change to vibrant yellows, reds and orange and the PTO has been organizing events for our students.  Picture day was a huge success on Wednesday. I can’t wait to see my kids’ pictures!!

Book Fair is going to be held October 28th & 29th. Information will be sent out from the room parents and more info is below on how your child will be able to purchase books using the Scholastic Dollars program. There will be opportunities for online shopping, in school shopping for the students and pending the weather cooperating we will have an early evening shopping opportunities for parents and families. We are excited for this program to be back in school. We have one pre-sale offering: “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot”. See below for more information!!

With fall sports in full swing, we have fleece picnic blankets with water resistant backing for sale in the spirit store. Stephanie Feingold has been out and about town selling great items  - plush blankets, WIS hats, WIS t-shirts…..we are bringing back the WESTON Hat that sold out in 3 weeks last year!! Keep an eye on our spirit store for new items!!

As we wrap up our membership drive, please please please join the PTO. Your financial support is critical to providing support to our students and teachers. We also need your expertise and talent on our volunteer team. We are still in need of a yearbook chair or a team of co-chairs. Please consider reaching out to me to learn more and volunteer. debbiecarrothers@yahoo.com

Thank you!!

HUMANKIND T-SHIRT SALE

One of our district  priority is to promote an inclusive climate that honors the uniqueness of every individual independent of race, skin color, religion, disability, gender identity,  sexual orientation or other perceived differences. Honor is a key word here. It is not enough for us to tolerate one another. We must honor and respect one another as we have more commonalities than differences. I would like to thank the district PTOs for funding our Humankind Be Both t-shirts for the entire staff this fall. In addition, these shirts are available to  our entire community for purchase. Here is the link. https://whsfanwear2021.itemorder.com/ This is a  powerful message that can be demonstrated in the simplest of acts.

BOOK FAIR

It’s Back!!!

The WIS Book Fair - Students only during school hours on Thursday and Friday, October 28 and 29th.

We have options this year. Your students can shop with their own Scholastic E-Wallet during the school day with their class. . . Or families will also be able to shop together, after school, in our first Outdoor Book Fair! A great opportunity for parents to shop with your kids after missing out last year!

Class Parents will be sending home links to pre-pay for your child’s shopping with Scholastic Dollars, learn about the fair and to contribute to your teacher’s E-Wallet to buy books for the class.

We will have school supplies, Holiday Gifts, book sets and Diary of a Wimpy Kid on presale! So much fun for everyone, we are so excited to be having this great event again! Happy Halloween!
