PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Weston High School Parents,

On behalf of the Weston High School PTO, I want to welcome you to the start of the new school year. Our priority and at the top of everyone’s list is keeping our students and staff safe and healthy.  Our board has been hard at work so that we can continue to support parents and teachers.

We are 3 weeks in and all things considered, we are off to a good start. While we are not at 100% normal, we are about as close to normal as we can be still battling the pandemic. Many things that we could not do last year are underway now! Personally I am very excited and optimistic about this year.

- Held a Staff Appreciation Luncheon on 9/30, which with no pun intended, the staff genuinely and deeply appreciated

- Supported a tent at Lachat with Weston Youth Services to welcome new and existing Weston families.  Come see us there on 9/24!

- The Annual Trojan Kickoff and Lap of Unity was held Friday with the students and staff

- The HS Club Fair is coming this month

- HS sports are underway and there are fans!

- The 1st home Football game was held Friday and it was great to see athletes on the field and fans in the stands - especially in the student section!  Mark your calendar for Friday October 22nd for Homecoming!

We held our first General Board meeting this past Friday 9/10 with guests Superintendent Wolak and Interim Principal Givoni. The first 45 minutes was an interactive discussion hearing what is going on in the HS and them answering our many questions!  If you missed the meeting you can watch the recording here:

The PTO plays an important role in our school and community, especially now as we are still dealing with the pandemic.  The WHS PTO is a vibrant organization run by a team of bright, energetic and dedicated volunteers here to serve YOU.  We work to keep parents informed and educated about both PTO and school events, act as liaisons between parents and the high school and district administration, support our teachers by providing funding for programming and supplies that fall outside the budget and showing “the love” through luncheons and other special events, arrange speakers on topics relevant to parents of high school age children - the list goes on.  Please visit our website www.westonpspto.org and click on the WHS tab.

Your PTO can’t serve you if you are not a member. It’s easy! Click HERE to sign up for your child/children’s schools.Due to privacy laws, the school is unable to share family contact information, so registration in the PTO is the only way for us to connect with you.

I, and our entire board, are here to support you and your student. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your thoughts, comments and suggestions for ways the WHS PTO can serve its members.  I can be reached at 203-981-0582 or kristana.esslinger@gmail.com

Sincerely,

Kristana Esslinger

PTO President 2021-2022

EVERGREEN BALL (9TH AND 10TH GRADERS)

From the ADAP Board:  In light of the uncertainty that continues with COVID-19, ADAP's Evergreen Ball is postponed, with tentative plans for the event in Spring 2022.  We realize this is a disappointment for the students and hope that they understand that this is the wisest decision at this time.  We are hopeful for a safe and fun event in the spring.

FYI - For those parents not familiar, the Evergreen Ball is a dance for the 9th and 10th graders in WHS traditionally held in December.
