PTO & SCHOOL NEWS

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Happy Friday!

I am so proud of our students and the work they are doing to learn about Black History Month.  My fifth grader, is working tirelessly on his research on Chadwick Boseman. HIs research has inspired many conversations about the history of our nation and how certain people make a lasting impression. Honestly, I didn’t know who Chadwick Boseman was or how he became an actor, what he went through as a child. What I do know, is that he inspired my son to research, write, ask questions and find answers. I am so proud of him.

The WIS PTO is so happy that our students are able to have in class Valentine’s parties this year! Individual snacks, crafts, juice boxes and all things red, white and pink!!

To continue the excitement for Valentine’s Day and add a little fun to your weekend, I thought I would share a few of my family’s favorite movies:

Lady and The Tramp

Gnomeo and Juliet

Be My Valentine Charlie Brown

Trolls

Princess Bride

Have a great weekend!

DROP OFF VACATION PROGRAM AT LACHAT FARM

Monday February 21st (President’s Day)

9am - 3pm

Grades K - 5

$125

Led by Alexis Slavina, a skilled nature mentor who uses the natural world to teach students valuable life skills. This program is tailored to be child-led, focusing on the experience rather than the outcome. Children will enjoy nature-inspired games that cultivate discovery, teamwork, activity and stillness! After lunch, the day is filled with storytelling, songs, and free time to explore the forest’s playground. Finally, we’ll work on fire-building and enjoy a wild-crafted treat!

There is a growing body of research that shows children who cultivate a relationship with nature develop a strong sense of self-awareness, curiosity, fearlessness, resilience, and other foundational aspects of good character. A small group size will ensure a high-quality experience filled with memories and new friendships.

Spots are limited.  Sign up at www.Lachattownfarm.org to register now!

Registration is open for winter workouts and spring house baseball!

Workouts begin the week of February 14.
