Dear Weston High School Parents,

As I have said before, times are busy at Weston High School right now.  Please take a look at the calendar above to see all that is happening. And for those with seniors check the Class of 2022 section below.

During our last PTO General Board meeting, we had 2 great presentations and discussions both focused on mental wellness.  First, Interim Principal Givoni provided us with information about what DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) really is (it's not therapy) and examples of 'lessons' that are taught in health and advisory classes and elsewhere.  It was followed by a discussion with Clinical Psychologist Dr. Michelle Albright who provided information and tips for how to support our kids during these unprecedented high school years. This was "Must See TV"!  I highly encourage everyone to watch!

I for one am looking forward to Memorial Day Weekend.  Remember, our biggest fundraiser, the Weston 5k, is Saturday May 28th.  Details are below to run, walk, sponsor or volunteer.  It is a great community event - so come out regardless.

The Weston Memorial Day 5k is back!! Join us as Weston comes together for this annual community celebration! The 28th Annual Weston 5k is set to run Saturday, May 28th after a 3 year hiatus.  We are all so excited to be back at this fabulous event - in person! Memorial Day Weekend is the highlight of the year in Weston - our fair, a parade, and of course the road race - that brings our community together.

There are so many ways for you to participate in this wonderful community event!

- Run or Walk in the 5K!

- Have your kids run in the Kids Run and/or come play in the FunZone with our GIANT inflatable obstacle course!

Superintendent Wolak has started a Podcast series this year interviewing various members of the WPS staff!  They are good! Some other info:

-PGE tickets go on sale soon! Be on the lookout for more information about this year’s PGE and buying your tickets.

-PGE will be held on June 21st.  We have been asked if the administration’s decision to introduce a rain date for graduation will have any implications on the PGE timing and the answer is NO. The buses and venues were locked in when we received the email in March stating the graduation date was set.  We are unable to change these plans at this point.  As a result, PGE may happen prior to graduation, but we will not know about any changes until 1:00pm on June 21st.  If PGE happens before graduation, we hope post graduation festivities are monitored and that parents discourage any sort of driving that night by the students.

We are hoping for a sunny day!!

-We are busily planning for the PGE and looking to make it a fun night for all the students.  As you can imagine, the costs we are incurring have been climbing and we are trying our best to keep costs under control.  We continue to look to the Weston community for their support.  If you have/know of a local business or individual that would like to become a sponsor for the Class of 2022 here is the link:  Donating is easy. -The Senior Class Student Reps are putting together a slide show for the Senior Banquet.  Please send photos of your student from their years in Weston Schools (PreK-12).  Best photos would be groups of students.  Email all photos to:  whsseniorslideshow2022@gmail.com 

- We will begin selling tickets to the PGE on 5/16.  5/16- 5/20 will be EARLY BIRD pricing (we are still working out the costs).  5/21 - 5/31 will be REGULAR pricing.  NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER 5/31.
