A Letter from the President's Desk

Dear WHS PTO Members,

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, and since there’s no place to go, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW…"

Welcome to December and all the joys  - and frustrations - that come with it! While you are sitting by the fire, take a moment to read Board Of Education Chair Laura Schlossberg’s report below on the recent BOE meetings. She does a fantastic job of boiling down hours of meetings into one succinct document and for that, I am grateful and you should be too. The District will be presenting the highlights of the 2020-21 budget and answering related questions at an evening presentation for the PTO members of all four schools on Wednesday, January 15th. More details including location and time to come.

Senior parents, stay tuned! The State of Connecticut is now allowing its high schools to set their graduation dates now. The District will send out the official date in the next few weeks.

Finally, please note that our next General Board meeting date has been changed from Friday, January 3rd to Friday, January 10th in order to accommodate the schedule of our Guest Speaker, College Center Head Randi Green. A not to be missed program!

As always, if you have a compliment, concern or question about the PTO or something school related that we can help you with, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our Board members.

Warmly,

Anne Troxell

Parking & Security at WHS:

When visiting WHS please remember to bring your driver's license for identification. Security will scan your license and issue you a visitor badge. The badge must be worn at all times while in the building and returned to security when you leave.

Visitor parking is on the street opposite the Main Entrance and on the access road between WIS and WHS (stadium field side only). Please refrain from parking in any parking lot or numbered space. These spaces are reserved and have been assigned to students and staff members. An empty space in a parking lot does not mean it’s an available space.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
