A Letter from the President's Desk

Dear WHS PTO Member,

This issue of The WORD is a great snapshot of the work that is being done by your PTO Board members to both raise funds for, and allocate funds to, the high school this month:

  • Allison Nevitt, Bradie Paul and Maggie Kins have kicked off their marketing campaign for our major annual fundraiser, the Memorial Day Road Race;
  • Debbie Morvillo has pulled off another college prep course fundraiser on our behalf, this time, for the Pre-ACT.
  • Kristana Esslinger is hosting a philanthropy meeting ( 9 a.m tomorrow at the high school), open to all members, to showcase the allocation of PTO funds over the past 8 years and to discuss the long term needs of the high school and goals of the PTO.

Also included in this newsletter is a quick note of introduction from this year’s appointed nominating committee chair, Casey Saussy. Casey will announce the names of her committee at our March General Meeting and will then begin the process of assembling the WHS PTO Boards for the 2020-21 school year. Can you believe it is already time to look ahead to next year?!

Our next General Meeting will be held on Friday, March 6 at the high school, beginning, as always, at 8:30 a.m. Check out Angela Zielinski’s note below for the details. I hope to see you there!

With warm regards,

Anne Troxell

Upcoming Programs

On Friday, March 6, 2020, we will have the pleasure of hearing from two speakers at our PTO Meeting. Our principal Lisa Wolak will provide color on the recent Climate Survey report followed by English teacher Venessa Eisenman to discuss the Writing Center. Please join us to learn more about both important topics at Weston High School.

-Angela Zielinski, WHS PTO Vice President

Philanthropy

At the next General PTO Board meeting, we will be presenting 2 new requests. Come on March 6th to hear about them and cast your vote.

In addition, we will be holding a special PTO meeting TOMORROW, FEB. 25th at 9 am in Room B1 (behind Counseling) to discuss Philanthropy in more detail. Please join us! We will review how we have spent our funds over the last 7+ years and brainstorm ideas for the future. Principal Wolak will join us as well.

Any questions, please contact the Philanthropy Chair at kristana.esslinger@gmail.com.
