PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello Weston PTO families!

November got off to a great start with our General Board Meeting on November 4th. We were very excited to welcome WHS SRO officer Joe Mogollan as our guest speaker. We were also treated to a surprise visit by Officer Jason Kim, WMS’s SRO. They took turns presenting and shared many relevant topics parents need to know about raising teens today. Many thanks to both for joining us and sharing their care and knowledge with our community! Click here to see our recording.

On election day, early morning voters and voters throughout the day were greeted by Carrie Shaffer and our PTO volunteers with hot coffee and a beautiful assortment of baked goods to buy and take home! Thank you to everyone who purchased baked goods this year. Your generosity will directly fund our teacher and staff appreciation initiatives at Weston High School this year. A huge thank you to our Election Day chairperson, Carrie Shaffer. She organized a beautiful display of donated goods alongside beautiful election day decor, creating a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who dropped by. The sale was a huge success!

We are also so appreciative of the help from:

  • The custodial team at WMS, including Tommy, RJ, and so many more

  • Megan Burns not only donated the cutest cupcakes, but she was key in setting up at 6 o’clock in the morning and selling baked goods throughout the day!

  • Lisa Zhang, Kerrie Steele Rubin, Sharon Ferraro, Ellen Nakamura, Juad Masters, and Sarah Woozley, who contributed by volunteering their time and/or making an enormous amount of baked goods!

  • Livia Berardinelli for keeping everyone informed about the sale, reaching out with email blasts.

  • Oronoque Farms, who donated over 30 apple cider donuts, HOT from their oven.

  • Everyone who dropped off baked goods throughout the day. We could not have done it without your help!

Amazing things are continuing to happen for our students, and I wanted to point out a few highlights:

Congratulations to the student cast and crew in A Midsummer Night’s Dream! We were all so proud of the entire Company team and so happy to see yet another fantastic production this past weekend!

We're very excited that WHS will be hosting the Robotics Tournament for teams around the Southern New England region on December 10th and 11th. Best wishes to our WHS students on the Robotics Team as they compete to qualify for the regional championship.  Good Luck to our WHS team!

Our Juniors are getting ready for their “Junior College Kickoff” on Tuesday, December 6th at 7 PM. It’s hard to believe our class of 2024 students are already starting to make their college plans.  Please check out the Class of 2024 section below for more details.

Finally, as we are quickly approaching Thanksgiving, I’d like to say thank you to each and every member of our PTO and to our teachers and staff at Weston High School. I am incredibly thankful to be a part of our incredible community, and every day, representing WHS PTO as the President this year, reminds me of that. We are part of a truly special and caring community and I couldn’t be more thankful. Happy Thanksgiving and please don’t forget to Share a Pie!, there is still time to take part in our annual pie fundraiser and support Weston Social Services and WHS PTO.

With warm regards,

Christine Harris

WHS PTO President
